Throughout the year, OSHA hosts and partners with other organizations to provide many public education campaigns with employers, workers, trade associations, and non-profit organizations, special days, weeks, or months to raise public awareness about several occupational safety and health hazards. For example, April is Distracted Driving Month, has National Work Zone Awareness Week, and Stand Up 4 Grain Safety. May marks Mental Health Awareness Month, National Electrical Safety Month, and Heat Safety Awareness Week. In June, there is the National Forklift Safety Day on June 9, and the 2026 Trench Safety Stand Down from June 15-19. Some other campaigns to add to your workplace safety calendar include August is Safe + Sound Week, in September is National Preparedness Month, Suicide Prevention Awareness Month, National Farm Safety and Health Week. In October, there is Fire Prevention Week and International Shake-Out Day.
